Groom Biodata Format
Same six sections as every marriage biodata; for a groom the scrutiny lands on career and family. The other family will re-read two lines: what he does, and what his parents do.
What to do differently
- Career with trajectory. "Senior engineer at a product company, Pune — 6 years" reads better than a title alone. If self-employed, name the business plainly; "family business" with no noun invites the wrong assumptions.
- Income: state it or skip it. A plain figure ("₹28 LPA") or nothing. Inflated numbers surface at the worst possible time.
- Living situation. Own flat, renting, living with parents — one honest line here prevents the most common third-meeting surprise.
- Habits. If the answer to drinking/smoking is one the other family will like, say it ("non-smoker, occasional social drink"). If it's complicated, the biodata is not the place to negotiate it.
